Pinstone has been officially recognised this month as a Certified Women’s Business Enterprise by WEConnect International. This recognition supports female entrepreneurs and highlights the importance of women in business.
Catherine, our founder, set up Pinstone in 2005. She has since grown the PR and marketing comms agency to a £1m+ company. Pinstone now leads in communications for the food and farming supply chain sector. This journey from a small start-up to an industry leader showcases our commitment and hard work.
Despite advancements, women still don’t set up businesses at the same rate as men. Companies validated as owned, managed and controlled by women, certified by WEConnect International, are now more easily sourced by potential customers in the UK and globally. This global reach opens up new opportunities and partnerships.
“I’m incredibly proud of the business we’ve cultivated – with the support of a fantastic team – over 16 years,” says Catherine.
“Driving a company forward despite societal pressures has been a real challenge. These pressures often push women to conform to traditional stereotypes. However, the journey has also been tremendously rewarding. It has helped instil our company values. We are career orientated and have a mission of ‘being the best we can be’. We now support the livelihoods of 22 team members and actively support family values that can and do sit alongside meaningful career progression.”
Looking ahead, we are excited about the new opportunities this certification brings. We will continue to innovate and lead in the PR and marketing comms space. We aim to inspire other women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Together, we can create a more equitable business landscape.
