B Corp accredited PR and marketing specialist agency Pinstone welcomed Sir Bill Wiggin, MP for North Herefordshire, for a roundtable discussion on key issues facing the farming, food and environmental sectors.

“As part of our B Corp focus and with a team rooted in food and farming, we felt it important to engage our local MP on the pressing issues. We want to ensure the government champions areas that matter to us, our clients and communities. 

Key priorities discussed

Key priorities included honesty in food labelling, the need for food security, hedgerows and the new Environmental Land Management Scheme. Green finance and the impact of trade deals were also debated. 

Sir Bill Wiggin highlighted his farming roots and his commitment to advancing discussions in Parliament. He is lobbying to ensure the Sustainable Farming Incentive works for farmers, not just civil servants. He is also working on local issues like the River Wye and channelling national money to local projects.  

“We need more MPs to advocate for removing regulatory obstacles that currently hinder the industry. Meanwhile, we also seek support for innovation and technology to increase adoption at farm level,” says Catherine.  

“That’s essential for businesses supplying to the rural sector to thrive. Our team is passionate about food, farming and environmental interests being promoted to the highest levels of government.”   

Catherine adds: “We are grateful for our MP’s willingness to engage directly with those at the forefront of farming and food production. Today’s conversation addressed core concerns of rural communities and the broader direction of UK agriculture policy.”
